TRATON HEADLINE: Taubman Sucks - Kudos to Mr. Mishkoff

An interesting site, "Taubman Sucks," shows the ordeal that one individual had to overcome in dealing with a corporate bully. It is a classic David-meets-Goliath case where one individual was able to fight a giant corporation, based solely on principle, making the corporation expend hundreds of thousands of dollars.

From a business standpoint, what is probably more detrimental to Taubman, Willow Bend, and all of the other related businesses is the lost sales and lost revenue from the Taubman Sucks website. The site itself is a very well documented site, which conveys an easy-to-follow story about the woes inflicted on one individual by a corporation that had no business threatening its own would-be customer.

After others have read about Mr. Mishkoff's ordeal, it is likely that Taubman (and other related entities) will not gain the loyal following that it could, were it not for the "sucks" sites that are prominently posted on the Internet. Even more onerous on the corporation is that these "sucks" sites will exist in perpetuity on the Internet. Thus, even months, years, or decades after the dispute is over, the horrible customer treatment by Taubman will remain visible for all to see, thereby contributing to additional lost sales over the course of time.

As such, the attorneys fees and other expenses will likely pale in comparison to the revenue that is lost as a result of Mr. Mishkoff's "sucks" sites.

While the retail industry may lose tens or maybe hundreds of dollars, if such a "sucks" site is established for high-dollar items, such as homes and cars, then one can imagine that the lost sales from such a "sucks" site can quickly reach tens-of-thousands or even hundreds-of-thousands of dollars in a single year.

Of course, this does not take into account the constant thorn-in-the-side memory that Taubman and its attorneys have to re-live, every time that they visit the Taubman Sucks site (or related site).

We give proper kudos to Mr. Mishkoff on a story that is well written, on a website that is simple and clean, and on a tenacity that eventually triumphed over a corporate bully. The video footage of his plight is also quite entertaining and informative.
